astactic mic question

I have a superstar 121 with 104 astatic powermic and texas star dx 500 box...saturday i was talking with the box off and the radio power on hi and someone said i sounded far away,like there was no power...it usually sounds pretty good like that,i only turn box on when i need to..so I changed mics and they said it sounded better....sounds like maybe a weak battery in mic,but i just changed the battery....??? anyone every had this problem..

did you try to turn up the mic? Also check yer wire conections. 73`s
