LIGHTS OUT ON COBRA 29 NW ST

MY ILLUMATED LIGHTS WENT OUT ON MY COBRA 29 NW ST MOBILE UNIT.. THE NEEDLE LIGHT AND STATION LIGHTS STILL WORK JUST THE LIGHT THE DIMMER SWITCH WORKS,, DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM COULD BE AND THE COST TO FIX IT

sorry about the caps...i done nothing to it,,the lights just went out ,,the channel display and needle lights work fine just the rest of the night watch lights went out...any clue

It sounds like you need a new night watch back panel this is a common fault, it is best taken to radio tech how can do the work. If it still under warrant take it back to the dealer you got it from.

i was think it could be a bulb blown, i'll take it to the shop and get it checked out,,thanks for your help

that nightwatch illumination is real nice til its tampered with or quits... no simple bulb here. even rubbing a pair of needle nose against the edge around one of the knobs (say removing the dimmer pot to add echo) can kill the illumination around that area. only one fix... remove and replace the entire face. and that in itself is tricky with the way the contacts are "painted on" any rough stuff there and you can totally lose connection to it.
