Superstar 3000 low-recieve

Need help with a superstar 3000 board ept120111z , recieve is not up to par close by stations come in loud and clear and distant stations you have to turn volume wide open to and still you can't hardly hear them.
also does anyone have an idea where a schematic can be located, any help will be appreciated

Your problem is most likely a bad front end overload protection diode.
This usually happens when a nearby station keys up with high power on.
I will have to check and see if i can find schematic,in order to give
you the diode location numbers.But most the time,they will be two
diodes of same specs.,located usually in the center of the pc board,and
to the rear,close to the coax connector.you will have to have a v.o.m
to check these..most likely you will find one or both these shorted.

Thanks Rambling MAN I have done some RESEARCH and the superstar 121 schematic is very close if you could point out which to check on that schematic I can check the diodes out

The SS3000 is known to suffer with bad soldering.

Thanks Rick I have already proged around on the board with a plastic tool to see if there were any spots that maybe were a cold joint couldn't find any, the radio works perfect except for the recieve, only can hear nearby stations or mobiles .
